In the event you are unhappy with your coffee order or you receive an incorrect order, we’ll replace it for free. Please call (877) 825-2262 and we’ll reship your order within 3-5 business days. We request that you prepare your unwanted shipment for pick-up and we will arrange for our shipper to retrieve and return it to us.

Shipping

Our goal is to process all orders within 24 hours of receipt. Orders are processed and shipped during regular business hours (Monday through Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST, excluding holidays). If we encounter any problems processing or shipping your order you will be contacted within two business days.

Shipping to anywhere in the United States is free for all orders over $150. Orders totaling less than $150 will be charged shipping according to the estimated weight of the items ordered. For these orders, we charge the following:

Notes on shipping:

• All coffee is roasted to order and shipped within 1-2 business days.
• Expedited shipping is standard to Michigan, N. Ohio and the Chicago area
• If you prefer a certain carrier (UPS, Fed Ex or USPS) please indicate this in the comment section of the order form
• Orders containing Gift Cards and no other merchandise will be shipped at no charge via USPS
• We apologize for the inconvenience but we don’t ship internationally

Sales Tax

We are required by law to collect 6% state sales tax on all taxable merchandise shipped within the state of Michigan. Most of our products are non-taxable, however, with the exception of non-food items. We do not charge sales tax on orders shipped outside of Michigan, although your state may require you to pay a "Use Tax" on out-of-state orders.

Security

We take the security of our customers' information very seriously. We use every method possible to make sure that your online shopping experience is a safe one.

For all online transactions, we use an encrypted Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) connection between your computer and our server. During checkout, your web browser should identify that the connection is secure by means of an alert box or a closed padlock icon. You will also notice that the beginning of the URL in your browser's address bar changes to "https:" (indicating a secure connection).

All the information that is stored on our server is password-protected and/or encrypted. No one but you and our staff have access to the information that you provide at any time. Your credit card is processed by Authorize.net, a professional internet payment processing service. Higher Grounds does not receive this information directly, so your credit card information is never stored on our server. This means that there is never any risk that a hacker might access this information from our database.

Every order receives personal attention from our staff. If any order appears to be fraudulent or erroneous, or if we have any questions, we will contact you by phone or email to verify your order personally. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your order, please do not hesitate to contact us by email or telephone.

Privacy

The personal information that we collect will not be sold or traded to anyone else. We will use it only to fulfill and track your order and for our accounting purposes. Any email that we send to you will be clearly identified as coming from Higher Grounds, and we absolutely will not send you spam email.

If you sign up to receive our eNewsletter, you will receive periodic (approximately monthly) emails from us with updates on the world of fair trade, special discount or sale announcements, and other related information. Every such email will include instructions for unsubscribing if you choose to do so, and you can also log in to your account on our web page and subscribe or unsubscribe there at any time. If you should ever have trouble with these automated systems, please feel free to contact us by email or telephone and we will gladly update your account manually.

Our site, like most eCommerce websites, uses cookies to keep track of your order and your personal information before it is sent to us via a secure connection.
