Full time, 40 hrs/wk Higher Grounds Trading Co. has an immediate opening for a full-time sales team member. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic organization where your professional skills will be challenged every day. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to establish customized solutions for new and existing coffee customers by effectively communicating the qualities and benefits of our products.

We specialize in linking small-scale organic coffee farmers to domestic consumers who appreciate a high quality cup of coffee. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent consultation to new customers to ensure a mutually beneficial relationship

  • Recommend and sell coffee equipment to best meet the needs of prospective customers

  • Acquire new customers through cold calling and network building

  • Provide a high level of service and follow through on a continuous basis for our customers

  • Maintain detailed Salesforce documentation clearly and concisely

  • Enter sales information into Quickbooks

  • Develop and deliver sales presentations

  • Close sales and maintain relationships for continued success

Candidates must have the ability to:

  • Provide exceptional customer service

  • Deepen their own knowledge about specialty coffee and convey that effectively to new and existing customers

  • Work independently and also within a team environment

  • Nurture and build existing customer accounts

  • Engage in ongoing development of specialty coffee equipment expertise necessary to brew quality coffee

  • Meet deadlines and achieve monthly sales goals

Qualified candidates will either have a BA/BS in business or related field or comparable experience, preferably in the food/beverage industry. Must have at least one year experience in sales, customer service, or a coffee-related field and be able to effectively communicate the unique selling proposition of Higher Grounds to prospective customers. Must be an enthusiastic supporter of community and environmental sustainability and have a passion for quality coffee. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable on our company vehicle.
