Idido cooperative is located just east of the town of Yirgacheffe in the Sidama region in southern Ethiopia. Founded in the 1970’s, Idido joined the Yirgacheffe Coffee Farmers Cooperative Union (YCFCU) in 2002 and has 1650 members. With farms located at 1800-2400 meters above sea level, Idido is known for producing some of the best coffee in the region. The high altitude, microclimate and rich soil are ideal for growing the regional Arabica landraces and help to develop Yirgacheffe’s distinctive aromatic qualities.

Our 2016-2017 offering from Idido, a washed coffee, was recognized with a Good Food Award. This year we are excited to offer a natural-process coffee from the farmers of this cooperative. Full-bodied and juicy, Yirgacheffe Idido Natural is full of character, with dynamic dark chocolate sweetness and red berry acidity, rounded out with more delicate echoes of black tea and hops. Pairs well with cream pie and afternoon doldrums.
