Dhaka Bor Banti is an exciting selection from the Guji region, an area rapidly gaining recognition within Ethiopia’s already world-renowned coffee landscape. This natural offering is sweet and layered with complex fruit notes, balanced beautifully by indulgent confectionary tones of sugar cookies, salted caramel, and warm brown spices. Together, these flavors create a profile that is both vibrant and comforting, with a touch of savory intrigue in the finish.
The body is exceptionally smooth and creamy, offering a rich, velvety mouthfeel that lingers. Roasted to a Light-Medium, Dhaka Bor Banti carries a hint of roast character while still showcasing the modern, fruit-forward elegance Ethiopia is known for.
Ethiopia is the birthplace of coffee, and every sip proves why it’s legendary. Centuries of tradition and unmatched skill create flavors you won’t find anywhere else. Expect bright citrus, lush fruit, sweet florals, and tea-like elegance.

Quality is fundamental to Higher Grounds' mission, and our Apex Series exemplifies this commitment best. Holding up our Apex coffees is our opportunity to hold up the farmers as well. While roasters relish the opportunity to showcase their skills by roasting and cupping these unique and exquisite coffees, the true mission of the Apex Series lies in honoring our Farmer Partners. Each bag prominently features the names of our Farmer Partners, highlighting our responsibility and privilege to elevate these artisans. Their expertise, often honed over multiple generations, is crucial to the exceptional coffee we produce together. Every cup is as much their creation as it is ours.

Education, health care, and access to water in Ethiopia are all extremely limited. Despite the country’s coffee exports accounting for nearly 60 percent of the national GDP, many coffee farmers and their families live in dire poverty. Education, health care, and access to water are all still very limited in Ethiopia. HG has a special relationship with farmers there thanks to Project Ethiopia, a long-term partnership via our sister nonprofit, On the Ground.
